That’s a wrap — the 2026 Budget Hearings have officially come to an end!

The final session took place today at the Ministry of Finance with presentations from:

• Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection

• Ministry of Finance

• Ministry of Works and Housing

The Budget Hearing is a strategic engagement between the Ministry of Finance and all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

It reviews the financial and non-financial performance of MDAs for the current fiscal year, while also serving as a platform to critically examine their budget proposals, programmes, and projects for the year ahead.

As mandated by Regulation 17(3) of L.I. 2378, the Public Financial Management Regulation (2019), the Budget Office conducts these hearings with Covered Entities after the submission of their proposals — ensuring alignment, accountability, and effective resource allocation in Ghana’s public finance system.

With today’s session, the curtain falls on this year’s hearings, marking an important milestone in the nation’s budget preparation process.
