MoF Trains MDAs on 2027–2030 Non-Tax Revenue Projections

The Ministry of Finance has trained Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and other covered entities on the preparation of Non-Tax Revenue and Internally Generated Funds (NTR/IGF) projections for 2027–2030.

The exercise is aimed at strengthening the capacity of institutions to use the Non-Tax Revenue Management Information System (NTRMIS) for revenue forecasting and to prepare projections aligned with the Medium-Term Fiscal Framework.

Speaking on behalf of the Minister for Finance at the opening ceremony, Director of the Revenue Policy Division (RPD), Mr. Edward Abrokwah said effective use of the NTRMI system would improve the quality and credibility of revenue estimates and support the preparation of a more realistic national budget.

The Director said the exercise would also contribute to the Government’s objective of increasing the contribution of NTR/IGF to domestic revenue in the medium term, stressing that revenue forecasts must be based on sound data, technical judgement and realistic assessments of revenue potential.

Participants are expected to prepare their institutional projections with support from officers of the Ministry of Finance. Covered entities will then have two working days to finalise and submit their estimates through the NTRMIS after consultations and approval by their respective Heads of Institutions.

Mr. Abrokwah urged institutions to approach the projection exercise with diligence and ensure that their submissions are realistic and evidence-based, noting that the quality of the estimates would have implications for the credibility of the national fiscal framework and the Government’s ability to plan and allocate resources effectively.
