Ken Ofori-Atta Inaugurates Thirteen-Member Board for SSNIT

Accra, 10th August, 2021 – Ken Ofori Atta, the Finance Minister has inaugurated a thirteen-member board for the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) and charged the reconstituted Board to work towards achieving results that would be comparatively better than their predecessors.

“Unlike the previous Board, you are taking over a Trust that has become increasingly transparent with improved relationships with its stakeholders that pursues optimal investment opportunities. You must work together to go beyond your predecessors and align your activities with the 3Cs (Completion, Consolidation and Continuity)”.

He said as Trustees, they have the platform to create opportunities for majority of Ghanaians to access pensions under the SSNIT Scheme. A cause if achieved, he believed they would have contributed to reduction in old age poverty, and most importantly, given Ghanaians dignified pensions.

The Hon. Minister assured the board that the Ministry of Finance will support them as they go about creating a “fit-for-purpose” SSNIT.
