Vice President Pledges Government's Support For Pension Fund Reforms
Vice President John Dramani Mahama has pledged Government's continued support for pension fund reforms.
He said government will ensure that credible, capable and competent fund managers are involved in pension fund administration in the country, he said this at a meeting with organised labour and employers at the Castle, Osu.
A statement issued in Accra yesterday and signed by Mr James Agyenim-Boateng, Deputy Minister for Information said launching of the new Pension Scheme was postponed to review concerns raised by other stakeholders in pension fund management.
"Government will deal with these concerns expeditiously to enable the launch to take place as soon as possible," Vice President Mahama said.
It said the Attorney General and Minister for Justice have been requested to speed up the drafting and passage of the Legislative Instrument to the National Pensions Act, 2008 (Act 766) while ensuring full stakeholder participation.
