Registrar General's Department Generates Revenue
The Registrar General's Department earned 5,052,145.40 Ghanaian cedis as revenue last year, surpassing what it earned the previous year, Mr Joseph Kofi Harlley, the acting Registrar General, said last Tuesday.
He told the GNA in an interview that the Department earned 4,603,932.57 Ghanaian cedis in 2007. Mr Harlley said the Department increased its revenue because of new administrative measures that encouraged people to do business with it.
Some of the fees charged are on estate/liquidation, registration of companies, business names/partnership, textiles/patent, marriages and forms.
Mr Harlley said the Department has dealt with its previous shortcomings and these include delays, poor quality, lack of concerns to genuine needs of the customer and cumbersome procedures.
He said the Department has no agent or middleman and clients shall be at the information desk where they will be directed as to what to do.
Mr Harlley said activities at the Department are on fast track and people seeking to register their limited liability companies will get their papers processed and completed for collection in seven working days.
Registration of company limited guarantee and registration of business names will be processed and completed for collection in five working days.
