Italy Launches Support For SMEs
The Italian government is to launch a 20-million-dollar support for the Ghanaian small and medium scale industrial sector to boost employment.
Speaking at the end of a two-day film show dubbed, “European Union EC Cultural Week” in Accra last week Thursday, the Italian Ambassador in Ghana , Mr Fabriezlo De Agostini, said the support among other things is to encourage local initiative and reduce unemployment.
The cultural week was to give value to EU cultures and to portray that people with diverse cultural backgrounds can work in harmony.
He said the support forms part of the Italian government’s contribution to eradicate poverty to enable Ghana to attain the Millennium Development Goals.
He said bilateral co-operation between the two countries remains cordial adding that Italy is considering launching other initiatives to help Ghana’s development drive.
