Ladies and Gentlemen,

INTRODUCTION:
1. I am very happy and grateful to God Almighty that we gather here today for the handing over of land by Nana Tafohene,Nana Agyen Frimpong, for yet another landmark construction of an ultra-modern District and Divisional Police Headquarters for Old-Tafo-Pankrono sub-metro and its immediate environs.

2.I am equally grateful to the Ghana Police Service, particularly the IGP for adding Old-Tafo to the list of three communities to benefit from the construction of a Police Station, which this is the bigest!

3. Nana Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen, this project we are cutting sod for its commencement goes to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of the NPP government to enhancing both the operational and administrative capacity building of decentralisation of policing in Ghana. This has been one of the thematic areas of the Government to building institutional and service delivery of the Security services particularly the Police to enable them play their constitutional mandate and promote good governance.

4.Ladies and Gentlemen, the complexities of fighting and combating crime in contemporary societies requires holistic human and physical resources with the cooperation of all stake-holders in society to ensure effective and efficient,as well as, providing qualitative and human-centered crime-prevention strategies which befits the country's current democratic dispensation.

5. Nana Chairman, as Member of Parliament for this constituency,my commitment to the proper protection of lives and property of the constituents and safe-guarding the peoples freedoms of movements of persons, goods and services, have been very paramount on my political agenda.

6.My Government has done tremendously in terms of provision of social infrastructure and promotion of quality life and welfare of the people and Old-Tafo/Pankrono has had its fair and equitable share of government's quest at bridging the infrastructural gap facing Ghana and the continuous budgetary expenditures to improve the situation so that Ghana can achieve a middle income status by 2015.In this regard, the provision of a Police Station goes to sealing the overall development agenda set out under my tenure as MP in the last 3 years of NPP's administration.

7. Let me express hope that this project which is valued at 550,000 Ghana cedis (or 5.5 Billion old cedis), comes at an opportune time for the honour of the Chiefs and people of this constituency, and as a legacy of H.E. President J.A. Kufuor's government, that pride itself on peace and security for the citizenry and effective law and order government of the people and by the people of Ghana.

8. Nana Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen, I will end my speech by saying that the NPP Government is committed to your total protection and security under our democracy and will continue to provide the necessary social and physical infrastructure for the enhancement of peace and harmony in the community.

9. Let me express profound gratitude to Nan Agyen Frimpong for the donation of Land at Morro Market for this massive porject for the community. This shows how Nana Tafohene is concerned about the security and protection of his area.

Thank you all for gracing the occasion and may God bless us all!!
