GTCMA Donates To Traditional Medicine Practice Council
The Ghana Traditional Chinese Medical Association (GTCMA) has yesterday donated some office equipment to the Traditional Medicine Practice Council through the Ministry of Health in Accra.
The items include two printers, a stabiliser, giant flat screen, and a computer desk, worth GH¢20,000.
Presenting the items on behalf of the GTCMA to the Council, Dr Xio Bo said his organisation aims at delivering right, accurate and effective service to patients and added that, for the past twelve years they have collaborated with the Ministry of Health in respect of traditional medicine.
According to him, donating the items to the Traditional Medicine Practice Council, Ghana will enable the Council improve upon the services rendered by its members of the public.
Dr Xio stressed that the Association has been receiving bad cases due to poor professional services and the use of uncertified herbal based medicines by some practitioners.
He therefore appealed to the Ministry of Health to implement Ministerial directives to the TMPC Secretariat on the registration of practitioners, to ensure monitoring them so that they deliver quality services.
The Deputy Minister for Health, Dr Benjamin Kunbuor, received the office equipment and thanked the GTCMA and assured them that the directives will be strictly enforced in order to eliminate difficulties that have characterised the practice of Traditional Medicine in the country.
