Inauguration of a Seven-Member Governing Board of SIC Life Savings & Loans Company Limited

Accra, April 27. 2018 – Hon Abena Osei-Asare, a   Deputy Minister for Finance today inaugurated a seven-member governing board of the SIC Life Savings & Loans Company Limited to provide guidance and direction to enable the company achieve its short to long term financial and non-financial objectives.

She thanked the members for availing themselves to serve their country through their role on the company’s Governing Board and expressed optimism on the performance of the company.

“I am very optimistic that the success of SIC Life Savings and Loans Company Limited will be remarkable in the history of this country”, she said.

Hon. Osei-Asare also urged the board which is also entrusted with fiduciary obligations, to act in the best interest of the company and to adhere to corporate governance principles.

“Undoubtedly, SIC Life savings and Loans Company Limited has great prospects and I believe with the right guidance and a sound direction to be provided by the Board, the company will achieve its short to long term financial and non-financial objectives”, she added.

Mr. Charles W. N. Dugbartey-Nanor, Chairman of the Board, on behalf of the members express his appreciation to government and the Ministry for the honor and opportunity to serve. He urged the members to project a certain level of professionalism and provide the necessary financial leadership to steer the company to success.

Other members of the board are, Ms. Ama Frimpomaa Dwumah, Madam Elizabeth Wyns-Dogbe and Mrs. Ernestina Afrani.  The other members are Mr. Henry C. E. O. Lamptey, Madam Lawrencia Simpson Adams and Mrs. Dorcas N. A. Taylor.

The SIC Life Savings & Loans Company Limited, formerly SIC Life Trust Finance Limited, was licensed by the Bank of Ghana (BoG) under the Banking Act, 2004 (Act 673) on July 27, 2010 to operate the business of a Finance House. The Company later received the license to operate as a Savings and Loans Company on 15th July 2015 and it remains a wholly owned subsidiary of SIC Life Company Limited. From a small beginning in 2010 operating in a single shop at the Swanzy Shopping Arcade, SIC Life Savings & Loans Company Limited has achieved significant growth in its geographical coverage, staff strength and balance sheet over its 8 years of existence. Currently, the company has six branches and two agencies. END
