Multi-Donor Budget Support: the Facts and Figures
In addition to revenues that are raised domestically, the Government of Ghana also has access to other sources of funding and in particular, from Development Partners (DPs). For example, budget support is a preferred modality in the delivery of aid to Ghana and this includes both general budget support (GBS) and sector budget support (SBS). General budget support can be allocated in the in the form of grants or loans by DPs and the funds go directly into the national budget. Sector budget support is similar to GBS, but the funds go to support the budget of a particular sector. The government receives also grants and loans that are specifically related to the implementation of certain projects.
