IMF NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR GHANA PAID A COURTESY CALL TO THE HON. MINISTER OF FINANCE
The new IMF Executive Director for Ghana Mr. Mohammed Jaffer Mojarrad has paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Kwadwo Baah Wiredu.
They discussed a number of issues including energy. Hon. Minister talked about the energy crises and measures put in place to avert future crises. He said the West Africa Gas Pipeline had undergone trial run and would soon be fully operational.
When this comes on board the cost of electricity production would reduce. He talked about the budget implementation and also gave the assurance that Ghana was ready to work with the Fund.
Mr. Mojarrad in his remarks commended Ghana for good and remarkable economic achievement. He also said both IMF and Ghana will continue to maintain the good relationship they already have.
